Course Description: BAF 503- Seminars in Banking and Finance: The students prepare a term project on the related field of study in accordance to the program under the supervision of their supervisors.
Course Objectives: This course does not aim to provide additional substantive material or methodological toolkit, the way typical graduate courses do. Its goal is rather modest as it attempts to apply your cumulative understanding and skills to specific research situation. From the perspective of one’s program of study, however, this course poses a real-world test helping to make a realistic transition from coursework to research and project. On balance, a successful completion of the course is marked by your ability to do a project proposal and defending it in front of the jury.

10 Reviewing the literature stating what relevant work has been done in this field
11 Writing the methodology of the project
12 Writing the expected outcomes from the project
13 Presentation of the overall project proposal to the advisor
14 Defending of the project proposal to the jury.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1 The students formulate a problem that demands sufficient knowledge from earlier courses on the topic and apply relevant economic theory and fundamental scientific methods, independently be able to recognize when further knowledge and study is necessary, and take responsibility for his or her knowledge development.
2 The students critically evaluate material from different sources and give a clear and well-structured written account.
3 The students defend their work at a seminar together with other course participants and provide constructive criticism on project report written by another students at a seminar given together with other course participants.
