Course Description: Introduction to hydraulic structures:- 1. Overview of other related topics that are required to fully design a hydraulic structure. 2. types of hydraulic structures:- Dams, reservoirs, crossing structures, control structures and some specials structures. 3. Design procedures:- hydraulic equations and design limitations.
Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to develop for the students (1) insight into the basic physical principles that govern the control of flows in hydraulic systems, (2) analytical and mathematical skills needed to describe and predict flow conditions in hydraulic structures, and (3) an ability to effectively apply these principles and skills to the analysis and design of structures in hydraulic systems
