Course Description: The course aims to provide knowledge to students regarding the mediation legislation as well as the provisions on arbitration. It also examines the various stages of negotiations, emphasizes the importance of verbal and non-verbal communication, and discusses the various negotiation techniques that negotiators may encounter. The course will provide an in-depth understanding of the negotiations of public and private international transactions, in recognition of the growing importance of such transnational interactions. Students will become intimately familiar with arbitration, international conventions, jurisdiction and their prevalence on national law. The course will also integrate classroom discussions and debates on contemporary topics related to the specific field.
Course Objectives: The main objective of the course study is to obtain knowledge about the main principles and procedures of mediation , arbitration proceedings, the election of arbitrators, jurisdictions and applicable law, challenging the arbitral awards, recognition and enforcement of the arbitral awards.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1 After completion of this course, students will be able to perform interpretation and correct application of the provisions of the Civil Code, Criminal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and Code of Civil Procedure and other laws in relation to the law of mediation, domestic and international legal framework on arbitration .
2 Upon completion of this course, students will be trained in general theoretical elements related to the meaning of conflict and disputes as well as their management aiming at an interactive debate on their correct and fair understanding
3 Making able understating the students on the importance of the alternatives dispute resolution ( negotiation, mediation and arbitration) and their connection to the profession as a lawyer lawyer, judge, prosecutor.
4 Recognising the advantages and disadvantages of the alternative dispute resolutions and the differences between judicial process and ADR
