Course Description: Financial Accounting I: The aim of this course is to provide students with a basic accounting background. The role of accounting as a decision making tool is emphasized throughout the course. The complete accounting cycle, preparation of financial statements, accounting for merchandising activities are among the major topics covered during the semester.
Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to convey sufficient knowledge for an adequate interpretation, analysis and use the information provided by financial accounting. Explain the components of an annual report and its significance to the stockholders; The complete accounting cycle, preparation of financial statements, accounting for merchandising activities differentiate pricing inventory under Periodic and Perpetual Inventory systems. Inventory Cost systems, Financial assets. The valuation of each group assets are discussed.
