| Course Description: | Definition of urban, culture and home, characteristics of culture and subcultures, diversity, fragmentation, borders. Housing settlements of different cultural groups, housing conditions and quality problems, Characteristics of members of different cultures residential environments and housing characteristics, to examine living environment quality and housing characteristics of different socio-economic residents in city. Typical examples from Istanbul residential areas, New trends of housing settlements of members of urban culture in the city. Housing preferences of users, problems of users, post-occupation evaluation. Evaluation of different alternatives: study of selected examples by considering environment, house and user’s perspectives. |
