Course Description: | This is a master level course that will introduce students to key concepts and theories of international institutions and their dynamics in international relations and world politics. This course focuses on both international organizations (IOs) and international institutions that include formal treaties and informal rules, norms, and strategies of actors that shape world politics. We will study key theoretical concepts and analytical frameworks through case studies and the literature on international organizations and non-state organizations. This course will enable students to think critically and theoretically about the dynamic roles of international institutions in world politics that impose consequences on countries and citizens of the world. |
Course Objectives: | At the end of this syllabus students will be able to know theory and conceptual basis for establishment of international institutions; to understand their role and contribution to develop multilateral relations and multilateral diplomacy; to know the role of international institution to develop and to codify international law according to international needs and challenges and to implement on international stage. Finally, main objective is the students to demonstrate their theoretical and conceptual basis, historical background and structural knowledge of establishing, organization, functioning and contribution of international institutions on the benefit of peace, stability, security, democracy, human rights, socio-economic development, environmental and global warming. |
