Course Description: | Modern architecture in Albania is a cultural and architectural heritage of high artistic and monumental value .This architectural wealth starts from 1920 , takes place under Italian influence till1943 and continues to be reflected in the wave of construction of the period after the Second World War .This branch of architecture includes monumental and administrative centers, residential areas not only for the Capital city but for many Albanian cities (Shkoder, Durres, Elbasan, Berat, Korca, Gjirokastra, Saranda, etc..). Development of Modern Architecture in Albania is strongly influenced by the activity of Italian planner, architects and engineers . Their contribution is broad and ranges from the design and construction of infrastructure , the regulatory and settling of town centers through representative building of public interest. All projects (realized and not realized ) of this period are deposited in a specific archive: in the Central Technical and Construction Archive, which give as the possibility to analyze and study this important product of time and men. |
