| Course Description: | At a time when disciplinary research and design is seen as insufficient to provide answers to nowadays complex problems, cross-disciplinary studies have become crucial. Multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary efforts are not new anymore. They have been applied for decades now in spatial design and research. In this context, the course tends to challenge beyond the interdisciplinary methods by exploring the potentials of transdisciplinary research methods. The key novelty brought forward by the recent method is the introduction of the non-professional stakeholders in the process of decision making in spatial research and design. The course is structured in brief theoretical introduction and Problem Oriented Research (POR) case studies. |
