Course Description: Teza është një studim origjinal i cili duhet të kryhet në bazë të studimit të pavarur kërkimor, pas përfundimit të lëndëve teorike dhe praktike. Studimi i tezës është i lidhur me një fushë që është përcaktuar më parë, dhe kjo është e drejtuar nga një këshilltar akademik. Një bashkë-këshilltar mund të caktohet nëse është e nevojshme. Këshillimi konsiston nga vendosja e temës së tezës, nëse ajo mund të bazohet në një teori apo jo, informacion në lidhje me qasjen e njohuritë e duhura në lidhje me këtë temë, si për të arritur të dhënave të shëndetshme dhe të pranueshme nga ku, vendosja e hipotezës, zgjedhjen e metodave të përshtatshme nga ku do të përftohen edhe rezultatet, sugjerimet dhe zgjidhje drejtuar studimeve të mëtejshme. Të gjitha këto aktivitete kryhen në vijim përgjithësisht të pranuar rregullat akademike etike.
Course Objectives: The purpose of the thesis is to equip students with the knowledge and skills on how to carry out an independent, scientific and objective study in a field related to legal studies. In addition, the thesis represents a scientific, objective and ethical study offering a suggested solution to a specific problem.
BASIC CONCEPTS OF THE COURSE
1 1. Graduate theses: A graduate thesis, is a comprehensive research document written by a graduate student pursuing an advanced degree, typically a master's or doctoral degree. The thesis serves as a culmination of the student's academic work and demonstrates their ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and contribute new knowledge to their field of study.
2 2. Research methodology refers to the systematic approach and techniques used by researchers to conduct a study or investigation. It encompasses the overall strategy, design, and procedures employed to gather and analyze data to address research questions or objectives effectively.
3 3. Gathering and interpretation of data are essential components of the research process, encompassing the collection, organization, analysis, and understanding of information relevant to a research study.
4 4. Legal analysis refers to the process of examining and interpreting laws, regulations, court decisions, and other legal authorities to determine their implications, applicability, and potential impact on a particular issue or situation.
5 5. Research ethics refers to the principles and guidelines that govern the conduct of research involving human participants, animals, or other subjects. These principles are designed to ensure that research is conducted in an ethical and responsible manner, with due consideration for the well-being, rights, and dignity of the individuals or entities involved.
COURSE OUTLINE
Week Topics
1 First meeting with the thesis supervisor. Discussions regarding the thesis topic.
2 Thesis abstract to be submitted by the end of the second week.
3 Independent Study: Searching databases related to relevant studies.
4 Independent Study: Searching databases related to relevant studies.
5 Meeting with the supervisor. Keeping detailed notes on at least five scientific articles.
6 Independent study: A section describing the study methodology.
7 Independent study: preparing the draft-bibliography.
8 Independent study: Attempt to solve the problem within the studies for the thesis.
9 Meeting with the supervisor: Review of the literature section
10 Independent study: Attempt to solve the problem within the studies for the thesis.
11 Independent study: Attempt to solve the problem within the studies for the thesis.
12 Meeting with the supervisor. Discussions on the final draft.
13 Finalization of the text of the thesis.
14 Presentation and defense of the final work.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1 Students demonstrate advanced research skills, including the ability to formulate research questions, design appropriate methodologies, gather and analyze data, and draw conclusions based on empirical evidence.

CONCLUDING REMARKS BY THE COURSE LECTURER

Throughout the work on the diploma topics, students are engaged in working on the topic in different ways. I have found that if work is started early on the diploma topic, the student has the opportunity to produce a qualitative and analytical paper worthy of the Master of Science level.
