Course Description: The course touches on fundamental aspects from the general background of the disciplines of psychological science and aims to help the general education of students pursuing law studies. The course provides basic information about the application of psychology in the justice system, the need for psychologists in various judicial processes nowadays, by also dealing with problems of motives and motivation, describing the types of motives as well as some fundamental aspects of the flow of motivational and emotional processes to the human being. The course will particularly focus on the specific problems of the application of psychology in judicial processes. This course aims to help students in the perception of legal and psychological attitudes towards human behavior and how they interact with each other.
Course Objectives: To understand key concepts in Legal Psychology;- To learn about the theories of criminal behaviours and personality;- To learn about different psychological concepts related to criminal behaviour;- To practice assessment and treatment of offenders

1 Introduction to legal psychology. Brief history of legal psychology. Understanding of criminal behaviour and the role of legal psychologists
2 Personality traits and individual differences. Theories of personality and psychopathy.
3 Personality types and psychophysiological, psychoanalytical and psychosocial perspectives
4 Psychological processes. Sensation and perception and the criminal behaviour
5 Memory and its structure. Memory distortion, false memory creation and crime
6 Motivation as a concept, types of motives, laws and principles of motivation, their recognition and treatment. Description of the motive of aggression, motive of suicide, sexual motive and deviant sexual behavior and others.
7 Emotionality; Feelings and emotions, their types, theories on emotions, physiological and bodily aspects of the manifestation of feelings and emotions in human beings and their evaluation.
8 Stress, stressors, types of stress, stress and adaptation, coping with stress
