Research Interests
My current researches are focused on those subjects of urban design and territorial planning close to strategies and tactics for a "glocal" sustainable development and to participatory integrated designing. I am involved in self-community-managed integrated tourism into fragile and marginal areas, for enhancing of the social-cultural, historical, and productive heritage. I am used in an international context, particularly within the Mediterranean Region. In details, my scientific work focuses on the following themes: • Urban and Social Regeneration Participatory Designing • Sustainable Development Strategies and urban Tactics within "fragile areas" • Preservation and Enhancement of local-identity & heritage for suitable development • Open and Public Spaces designing through Tactical urbanism participatory actions • “Green”, “grey” and “blue” Infrastructures (Urban metabolism Cycles) • Place-based Integrated Sustainable Tourism (IRT) for rural and urban local-led development
