ARiF - Bringing Digital Data and Reality Together - Augmented Reality in Forestry, EU, Digital transformation is changing the forest sector, with abundant data but few applications to use it effectively. Augmented Reality (AR) offers a promising solution for visualizing and interacting with data, but challenges include poor network coverage and device durability. Europe’s forestry sector needs region-specific AR solutions and standardized data. The COST Action aims to unite researchers and stakeholders to overcome these challenges and integrate AR into forestry practices., 09/2024 - ongoing
MAIA - Managing Artificial Intelligence in Archaeology, Management Committee Member., EU, AI in archaeology offers new opportunities but brings challenges. Tools like Machine Learning and Neural Networks are now used for tasks like site detection and artifact analysis. However, more focus is needed on research questions, data creation, and ethical concerns. The MAIA COST Action aims to unite archaeologists and computer scientists to explore AI’s potential, offering workshops and training to support this collaboration., 09/2024 - ongoing
Net4Brain - A Comprehensive Network Against Brain Cancer, EU, This project aims to tackle the challenges of brain cancer, a highly deadly disease resistant to most treatments. The COST Action seeks to improve clinical outcomes by building a pan-European network that combines advanced research in neuroscience, genetics, and big data. Key goals include promoting education in these areas and developing a European brain cancer database and biobank to support research and treatment., 10/2023 - ongoing
InsectAI - Using Image-based AI for Insect Monitoring & Conservation, EU, The InsectAI COST Action aims to tackle insect declines by advancing image-based AI for monitoring and conservation. It will unite researchers to support EU biodiversity goals, improve data collection, and develop standardized methods for analysis. ROAR-NET - Randomised Optimisation Algorithms Research Network, EU, This project aims to enhance the use of optimisation algorithms to solve complex modern systems by identifying the best solutions among alternatives. Focusing on randomised algorithms, which are simpler and more effective for large, poorly understood problems, the project seeks to overcome challenges in model development and promote their wider adoption in real-world applications. VTECH - Accelerating Western Balkans University Modernization by Incorporating Virtual Technologie, EU, Erasmus+ CBHE, The VTECH Erasmus+ project aims to introduce Virtual Technologies to universities in the Western Balkans to modernize education.
